Zimbabwe delegation to review bio-secure bubble ahead of Pakistan tour

A five-member delegation of Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) will arrive in Pakistan on 10 October to evaluate the arrangements made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the limited-overs series between the two nations.

According to sources, the delegation will mainly consist of medical experts who will review the bio-secure bubble and SOPs put in place for the series in Multan and Rawalpindi. The delegation will be briefed by the medical panel of PCB at both venues till 14 October. The purpose of this visit is to gather all information regarding the arrangements and inform the Zimbabwe board and players about it.

The delegation will also discuss the Pakistan’s proposed tour to Zimbabwe in April, 2021 with the PCB officials.

The Zimbabwe side is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on October 20. The three-match one-day International (ODI) series, which is part of the inaugural ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, will be played between October 30 and November 3 in Multan. Whereas, the Twenty20 International (T20I) matches are scheduled for November 7, 8 and 10 in Rawalpindi.

In 2015, the PCB paid Zimbabwe players for the tour. This time, they will be undertaking an FTP without any financial assistance and support from the PCB.

Director International cricket Zakir Khan will head the Pakistan delegation and will assist the Zimbabwe delegation.
