Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has raised concerns about the performances of Kuldeep Yadav and Shubman Gill in the ongoing ODI series against Sri Lanka. The Indian team, known as the Men in Blue, lost the second ODI at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday by 32 runs. This defeat has given Sri Lanka a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, with only the final ODI remaining.

Kuldeep Yadav managed to take two wickets in the second ODI, adding to his one wicket from the first game, which ended in a tie. However, Chopra believes this performance was not sufficient compared to Sri Lankan wrist-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay, who delivered a match-winning performance with figures of 6/33. Vandersay's spell is now the best for a wrist-spinner against India in ODIs.

In his latest YouTube video, Chopra commented, "We are saying this is a slow track and he isn't getting much help," Chopra said in the latest video on his YouTube channel (2:58). "He took wickets -- got Janith Liyanage caught and bowled but it's also true that on the same pitch, Jeffrey Vandersay took six wickets. He's also a wrist spinner so you expect Kuldeep to be the pick of the bowlers but that hasn't happened yet."

Shubman Gill, on the other hand, scored 35 off 44 balls in the second match and 16 off 35 in the first match. Chopra observed that Gill has not yet shown his dominating form. He stated, "Shubman Gill hasn't looked dominating yet," he said (4:58). "He's thinking runs are available here and he can play a huge innings -- score 70, 80 or maybe even 100 runs. But he's not able to reach there and is getting out."

It is worth noting thay India will play the third and final ODI on Wednesday at the R. Premadasa Stadium.
