The Pakistani duo has featured regularly in the CPL over the past few years
Aakash Chopra, the former Indian opener-turned commentator, selected Pakistan’s veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik and left-arm pacer Sohail Tanvir in his all-time Caribbean Premier League (XI).
While speaking on his YouTube channel, the Indian commentator decided to bank on Malik’s experience and placed him at the number four spot in the batting order.
The veteran all-rounder has played 56 matches in the CPL and has scored 1707 runs at an average of 39.6.
“He [Shoaib Malik] has been on the road forever. He has been playing and has maintained his dominance in Twenty20 leagues around the world for such a long time. Malik has done the same in CPL as well. So I am going to pick India’s son-in-law Shoaib Malik in my team,” said Chopra.
Tanvir, who has featured regularly in the CPL over the past few years, has taken 63 wickets in 54 matches at an average of 21.2 and a economy rate of 6.6. The left-arm pacer is one of the two Pakistanis who will be taking part in this year’s CPL as well, after being drafted by The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots.
“Remember Sohail Tanvir who troubled all the batsmen in the first edition of Indian Premier League (IPL)? He is in my all-time CPL XI,” he said.
