Pakistan all-rounder Aamer Jamal recently shared his thoughts on the captaincy styles of Babar Azam and Shan Masood.

Jamal has had the opportunity to play under both leaders, having made his international debut in 2022 during a T20I series against England under Babar Azam and his Test debut in 2023 during a tour of Australia under Shan Masood.

In an interview with a local sports platform, Jamal highlighted the differences between the two captains. He mentioned that both Babar and Masood have distinct approaches to captaincy and that he maintains good relationships with both.

Jamal pointed out that Babar Azam tends to be more defensive in his strategy, focusing on securing the team's position first. In contrast, Shan Masood adopts a more aggressive approach, believing in responding to challenges with equal force.

"When it comes to captaincy, both have their own different mindsets. Shan Bhai's approach is different, and Bobby Bhai's approach is different. I have very good terms with both of them," Jamal said.

"Both have different mindsets. I believe Bobby Bhai is a bit defensive. He thinks about securing the the team first. Shani Bhai is a bit aggressive as he belives if somebody throws punch, you should too," he further added.

Jamal also appreciated the understanding and support he receives from both captains.

"As captains, both of them understand you and ask about your needs and what you require," he concluded.

Aamer Jamal has played in three Test matches, scoring 143 runs and taking 18 wickets, including two five-wicket hauls.
