Aaqib Javed has expressed disinterest in taking on a coaching role, stating that he is only interested in fulfilling his responsibilities as a selector. However, he may still take on the role of Director of High Performance to nurture new talent.

On the other hand, selectors have clarified to Mohammad Rizwan that his role as captain will be limited to consultation regarding selection. The selection committee will be responsible for forming the initial squad and the playing XI.

Recent rumors suggested that Aaqib Javed might be given additional responsibilities as head coach, but sources close to him have denied such discussions. When Aaqib saw his name in the news after waking up, he was reportedly surprised. Previously, he has been a vocal critic of the dual roles held by former coach Misbah-ul-Haq as both selector and coach.

The PCB is expected to assign Aaqib Javed the role of Director of High Performance in the coming days, as he is keen on guiding new players.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan was informed that his input in the selection process would be strictly advisory. Initially, Rizwan objected to this limitation but later agreed to take on the captaincy.

On the other hand, Gary Kirsten has resigned from his position as the white-ball coach of the Pakistan team. Reports indicate that he struggled to adjust with the team dynamics. The PCB had previously removed the captain and coach from the selection committee, a move largely attributed to the ongoing issues with Kirsten. Sources reveal that matters had been deteriorating since the World Cup, with the PCB growing weary of his demands.

Kirsten’s agent had recently submitted a request for him to coach a non-playing team, indicating that the relationship between him and the board had soured. Ultimately, the PCB reluctantly accepted the need to part ways with the coach due to escalating tensions
