Pakistan team faced many problems as injuries haunted them during the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

Players like Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Shah Afridi were not medically cleared before the T20 World Cup as they were in their rehabilitation process to make themselves fit enough to participate in the mega-event.

Fakhar Zaman played only one match in the T20 World Cup against the Netherlands and was seen struggling with his form and was not cleared for the remaining matches in the mega-event.

The question arises here whether the PCB medical panel is aware of the concerned injuries of the players, firstly declaring them fit and, second, remaining unfit for the entire tournament.

Former Pakistan bowler Aaqib Javed raises questions about whether the medical panel has any ideas about sports-related injuries.

"PCB medical panel declared Fakhar Zaman fit, but he became unfit after only a few overs," Aaqib said.

"Shaheen Shah Afridi was played when he wasn't fit enough for the World Cup," he maintained.

"We need to inquire whether they know anything about sports injuries," Aaqib said.

It is to be noted that Shaheen Shah Afridi struggled with his injury during their match against India in the opening match of the super-12 round. During the T20 World Cup final against England, Afridi injured his knee while taking a catch of Harry Brook.

Shaheen Shah Afridi is set to miss the home test series against England and has been advised two weeks of rehabilitation.
