Abdul Qadir’s family refuses Imran Khan’s three-year-late death condolences

Deceased legendary spinner Abdul Qadir’s family has refused former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s invitation to his place to offer condolences three years later after the cricketer died.

In a video circulating on social media, Sulaman Qadir, the cricketer’s son, said he recently received the invitation and did not find it appropriate to offer fatiha of his father at someone’s else house.

“Our father passed away three-and-a-half years ago,” he said, adding whoever wants to offer condolences can visit the cricketer’s house.

While Khan mourned the former leg-spinner’s death on Twitter, he did not offer his commiserations in person it seems. The two played cricket together for Pakistan in their early days.

Qadir had passed away in Lahore in 2019 due to cardiac arrest. He had represented Pakistan in 67 Tests and 104 One-day Internationals (ODIs) from 1977 to 1993.

Earlier in March this year, Pakistan Cricket Board formally inducted the late cricketer into its Hall of Fame.
