Abdul Razzaq did not participate in the final of the World Championship of Legends, where the India Champions triumphed over the Pakistan Champions by five wickets at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham on Saturday.
Razzaq and Wahab Riaz were recently dismissed from the selection committee following Pakistan's poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Razzaq appeared as a panellist on a Pakistan TV show before the aforementioned final.
Former Pakistan pacer Sikander Bakht asked if the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had promised any support or prize money for defeating the India Champions.
"Tell us if the team has received any support or message from the PCB, something like 'win the trophy, and we will award you 10,000 dollars?'" Bakht inquired.
Razzaq humorously responded, mentioning his termination letter from the PCB. "Letter aaya hai termination ka (received termination letter)," he said, alluding to his recent removal as a selector.
Addressing allegations of favoritism that led to his and Riaz's dismissal, Razzaq clarified that the team selection for the T20 World Cup was a collective decision made by the seven-member selection committee.
"How can I sway the other selectors while selecting the team?" he questioned.
