Abdullah Shafique and Imam ul-Haq made history with their outstanding performance as an opening pair in the ICC World Cup 2023 match against Australia in Bengaluru on Friday.

They etched their names in the record books by achieving the first-ever century partnership for a Pakistani opening pair against Australia in a World Cup match.

The duo showcased their exceptional batting skills and forged a remarkable 134-run partnership for the first wicket.

However, the Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis emerged as the disruptor, breaking the partnership by dismissing Abdullah Shafique, who had played a crucial innings and contributed a valuable 64 runs to Pakistan's total. Following Shafique's departure, Stoinis continued his impact by removing Imam for a well-earned 70.
