Adam Gilchrist has strongly condemned a social media page for spreading fabricated quotes falsely attributed to him regarding the recently-concluded Pakistan-Australia Test series
Former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist has strongly condemned a social media page for spreading fabricated quotes falsely attributed to him regarding the recently-concluded Pakistan-Australia Test series.
Despite Pakistan's 3-0 series loss, Gilchrist, who served as a broadcaster during the matches, highlighted the team's commendable moments, particularly in the Boxing Day Test.
A bogus quote circulating on social media quoted Gilchrist as saying, "Pakistan is the worst Asian team in Australian conditions. What have they won here in the last 35 years."
Dismissing these claims, Gilchrist took to his social media accounts to set the record straight. Gilchrist acknowledged Pakistan's competitiveness against the reigning World Champions and emphasized their progress.
"I never said this. Absolutely fake, made-up quotes. Pakistan were excellent at times this summer, against a World Champion Aust team and very nearly pinched a Test or two," Gilchrist wrote on X.

It is worth noting that despite losing the Test series against Australia, Pakistan showed significant improvement and some notable performances from Aamer Jamal and Mohammad Rizwan.
As Australia prepares for a home series against the West Indies, Pakistan looks ahead to a five-match T20I series against New Zealand starting on Friday in Auckland's Eden Park.
