Afghanistan’s star spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman has officially signed up for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 player draft, becoming the first Afghan player to enter the draft for this season.
The announcement was made on the PSL’s social media platforms, featuring a video compilation of Mujeeb’s best dismissals from his previous stints in the league.
“The Afghan spin sensation Mujeeb Ur Rahman officially enters the [PSL Draft],” read the league’s post.
Mujeeb, a key player for Afghanistan in T20 Internationals, brings extensive experience in the shortest format. The 22-year-old has played 244 T20 matches, taking 261 wickets at an average of 23.70. His best figures in T20 cricket are an impressive 5/15.
The spinner has showcased his skills in top franchise leagues worldwide, including the Big Bash League (BBL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL). He previously represented Peshawar Zalmi in two PSL editions, in 2021 and 2023, playing 11 matches and taking six wickets.
This year, Mujeeb becomes the 25th foreign player to register for the PSL 10 draft. For the first time in the league’s history, the draft will take place in Balochistan, with Gwadar set to host the event on January 11, 2025.
