Simon Doull, a commentator, has voiced his disapproval of Virat Kohli's slowing down when he was about to reach his half-century in the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants.

Doull suggested that Kohli's deceleration was due to his focus on achieving a milestone rather than trying to score runs quickly.

“Kohli started off like a train, he was going hammer and tongs, playing a lot of shots,” Doull said during commentary. “From 42 to 50 he took 10 balls.”

“Concerned about a milestone. I don’t think there’s room for that in this game anymore. You’ve just got to keep going especially with wickets in hand at that stage. You’ve got to keep going,” he added.

Earlier this year, Doull, also echoed similar thoughts for Peshawar Zalmi skipper, Babar Azam, when he scored his maiden PSL century against Quetta Gladiators in the eighth edition of the tournament.

During his commentary stint, Doull criticized Babar for putting his personal milestones above the team's goal. He stated that Babar should have prioritized the team and focused on looking for boundaries instead of slowing down the run-rate.

“Rather than putting the team first... the last little while, that's all that been happening. Rather than looking for boundaries, still, so much firepower to come. Hundreds are brilliant, stats are great, but it has to be team first,” Doull said.
