Ahmad Shahzad has expressed his belief that two spinners, Usama Mir and Abrar Ahmed, could provide Pakistan with a significant advantage over other teams in the 2023 World Cup to be held in India.

Shahzad's observations are centered around the conditions in India, where batting-friendly pitches are often encountered.

According to Shahzad, Usama possesses a unique attribute that sets him apart from other spinners: his height. This physical advantage enables Mir to extract extra bounce from the pitches, which can prove to be highly effective in Indian conditions.

“There are some players that I like personally. Usama Mir is one of them. Where there are batting-friendly pitches in India, we have seen that he has such a height, which can help him extract bounce, which other spinners can’t, so Usama can be effective,” Shahzad said while talking to media in Lahore.

Mir is currently representing Worcestershire in the ongoing T20 Blast, and has taken 12 wickets in 5 matches at an average of 10.2 and an economy rate of 6.1.

Moreover, Shahzad emphasized the potential of Abrar Ahmed as a "mystery bowler."

“At the same time, if you talk about Abrar [Ahmed], he is a mystery bowler. These two bowlers can give an edge to Pakistan team in Indian conditions,” he concluded.
