In a thrilling encounter in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024, Fortune Barishal secured a commanding victory over Sylhet Strikers, thanks to brilliant performances from Pakistan duo Ahmed Shahzad and Mohammad Imran Jr.

After being asked to bat, Barishal posted a formidable total of 186 runs for the loss of just five wickets. Star batsman Ahmed Shahzad once again showcased his aggressive style, hammering 66 runs off 41 deliveries. His innings included nine boundaries and two sixes, entertaining the crowd with a strike rate of 160.97.

Sylhet Strikers faced an uphill battle during their chase, losing wickets at regular intervals. By the 17th over, they were reeling at 116 for the loss of seven wickets, struggling to keep up with the required run rate.

Pakistan's young pace sensation, Mohammad Imran Jr, wreaked havoc in the Sylhet batting lineup, scalping crucial wickets of Shamsur Rahman, Zakir Hasan, Rejaur Rahman Raja, and Richard Ngarava. His magical four-over spell saw him finish with figures of 4 for 29 at an economy rate of 8.28.

In the end, Sylhet Strikers were bowled out for 137 runs, falling short by 49 runs as Fortune Barishal clinched a comfortable victory.
