Pakistan Champions produced a dominant performance to crush Australia Champions by 10 wickets in the 14th match of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, held on Tuesday at Grace Road.

Saeed Ajmal starred with the ball, taking a remarkable six-wicket haul, while openers Sharjeel Khan and Sohaib Maqsood comfortably chased down the 75-run target with 73 balls to spare, keeping all ten wickets intact.

Australia Champions, put in to bat by Pakistan’s stand-in skipper Shoaib Malik, were bundled out for just 74 runs in 11.5 overs. The collapse began early as Shaun Marsh (7) and Chris Lynn (6) were dismissed within the first three overs. Ben Dunk and D'Arcy Short tried to steady the innings with a 32-run partnership, but Dunk’s aggressive 26 off 14 balls ended when Ajmal removed him in the sixth over.

Ajmal struck twice more in the same over, dismissing Christian (0) and Short (2) pushing Australia to 53/5. He later returned to wrap up the tail, finishing with sensational figures of 6 for 16 in 3.5 overs. Imad Wasim also bowled well, picking up 2 for 11, while pacers Sohail Tanvir and Sohail Khan took one wicket each.

In reply, Sharjeel Khan led the run chase with a quickfire 32 not out from 23 balls, hitting five boundaries. Sohaib Maqsood supported him with an unbeaten 28 off 26 deliveries, including four fours.

This emphatic win takes Pakistan Champions to the top of the WCL 2025 points table with nine points from five matches. Australia remain in third place with five points, while South Africa, also on nine points, slip to second due to net run rate.

All three teams have confirmed their spots in the semi-finals.
