Lahore Qalandars’ skipper Sohail Akhtar has hinted at resting pacer Shaheen Afridi during the upcoming sixth season of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).

While speaking to Cricket Pakistan in an exclusive interview, Akhtar admitted that Shaheen’s workload management is something that the Qalandars have in mind.

“We have Shaheen’s workload management in mind, considering that he regularly plays for Pakistan, which is why we have backup in place so that he can be rested whenever needed,” said Akhtar.

“Shaheen has been blessed with extraordinary skills and puts in great effort on the field, whether it is the national side of franchise cricket,” he said while praising the left-arm pacer.

He also lauded the presence of veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez in the side.

“Hafeez is our main player and his experience is a great asset for us on the field and off the field. He shares his experience with youngsters which helps a great deal,” he said.

On the second day of HBL PSL 6, February 21, 2020 finalists Lahore Qalandars will take on 2017 winners Peshawar Zalmi in a day fixture as both team kick start their campaigns.
