Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar is not satisfied with the Men in Green’s T20 World Cup squad while claiming that changes will be made in the near future.

While speaking on PTV Sports, Akhtar also took a dig at current Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim.  

“The Pakistan squad for T20 World Cup will be changed. Mohammad Wasim is not a chief selector, he is just a puppet,” said Akhtar.

He also shared the squad he would have selected for the mega event.

“The Pakistan squad for T20 World Cup should include Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Rizwan, Shoaib Malik, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, Shahnawaz Dahani, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Amir, Fakhar Zaman and Hussain Talat,” he added.

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad has been a topic of discussion over the last couple of days with fans and former cricketers expressing their disappointment over the players named.

Babar Azam (captain), Shadab Khan, Asif Ali, Azam Khan, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Imad Wasim, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Mohammad Wasim, Shaheen Afridi and Sohaib Maqsood.

Reserves: Fakhar Zaman, Shahnawaz Dahani and Usman Qadir.

It must be noted that changes to the squad can be made until October 10.

Pakistan begin their campaign with a blockbuster Super 12 stage match against arch-rivals India in Dubai on October 24.
