Former Pakistan cricketer, Mohammad Amir, has expressed his disappointment over the exclusion of Ihsanullah from the playing XI against New Zealand.

Amir believes that Ihsanullah's impressive performance in the previous series against Afghanistan should have earned him a spot. However, Ihsanullah has been ignored in the first four T20Is of the series against the Kiwis.

“I was looking forward to see @ihsanullah150 bowl in NZ series but he has been benched. Ihsan @thePSLt20 ka aur Afghanistan series ka sabse acha bowler tha. Everyone was enjoying his fast & furious bowling & celebration. We should groom Ihsan instead of destroying his confidence,” Amir tweeted.

It must be noted that the 20-year-old made his PSL debut while representing Multan Sultans and was the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament after claiming 22 wickets.

His exceptional performance in the tournament gave him an opportunity to play for the national side against the Afghan team in a three-match T20I series in Sharjah. Ihsanullah took six wickets in the series and was the leading wicket-taker as well.
