Pakistan's Mohammad Amir delivered yet another exceptional performance as the Vancouver Knights secured a commanding victory over the Montreal Tigers in the GT20 Canada 2024. The match took place on August 4th in Brampton.

After being asked to bat first, the Montreal Tigers struggled to set a challenging total, being dismissed for 109 runs in the first innings. Afghanistan's Azmatullah Omarzai led the Tigers' batting efforts with a solid 30 runs off 26 deliveries, while Sherfane Rutherford added 22 runs from 18 balls.

However, it was Mohammad Amir who stole the spotlight with the ball. The left-arm pacer was instrumental in dismantling the Tigers' lineup, claiming three crucial wickets in his four-over spell and conceding just 18 runs. Amir's victims included Dilpreet Bajwa (2), Parveen Kumar (3), and Aayan Afzal Khan (8).

Meanwhile, Dwaine Pretorius, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Dipendra Singh Airee each contributed by picking up two wickets in their respective spells.

In their chase, the Vancouver Knights faced a shaky start, losing their opening wicket at just seven runs. Despite this early setback, the Knights managed to chase down the target inside the 19th over, losing five wickets in the process. Reeza Hendricks top-scored with 39 runs, while captain Usman Khawaja played a vital role with 31 runs.

Mohammad Amir's impressive performance has also placed him as the third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament so far, with nine wickets in seven matches at an average of 12.00 and an economy rate of 5.10.
