Amir's prediction for Argentina qualifying in final proves to be right

After Lionel Messi's team fell to underdogs Saudi Arabia in their opening round encounter, former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir previously predicted that Argentina will play in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final.

Amir emphasized his belief that Argentina will do well in the tournament by referencing Pakistan and England, who both advanced to the T20 World Cup 2022 final despite losing to underdogs Zimbabwe and Ireland, respectively, in the group stages.

"I am biggest fan of Argentina. I think Argentina can still play in the final. Because Pakistan lost to Zimbabwe and England lost to Ireland, but they both played the final of T20 World Cup 2022," Amir stated in an interview right after Saudi Arabia beat the world number three team 2-1 in group C. 

Argentina defeated Croatia 3-0 in the semi-final to advance to the FIFA World Cup 2022 final. Messi scored a goal on a penalty kick for a crushing victory for his club and helped Julian Alvarez score two goals.
