India and England are set to compete in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 today in Guyana. The winner of this match will take on South Africa in the final on June 29 in Barbados. This highly anticipated clash will determine who gets a shot at the championship title.

Former cricket stars Andy Flower and Tom Moody have shared their predictions for this key semi-final. Speaking on ESPNCricinfo, Flower expressed his confidence in India’s chances, highlighting the impact of key players and favorable conditions.

“Well, I spoke about those two threats, twin threats of Kuldeep [Yadav] of wrist spin and [Jasprit] Bumrah the best white-ball bowler in the game. I think in those conditions, in Guyana I think, India will come through," Flower said.

Moody echoed Flower’s sentiments, emphasizing the balance in India’s team.

“I’d like to say England, just so we have got a point of difference on the show, but I tend to agree that I think India have got a team that is perfectly balanced for the conditions in Guyana and you’ve got to give credit to the selectors for the balance of side that they have selected for this World Cup because they have got it absolutely spot on,” Moody further added.

India and England have faced each other four times in previous T20 World Cups, each team winning two games. India triumphed in their first encounter in 2007 and again in 2012. England secured victories in 2009 and their most recent clash in 2022, where they went on to win the tournament.
