Pakistan's head coach, Aqib Javed, spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the team's approach to the upcoming challenges. According to Javed, the team will be looking to build a strong foundation for the future, starting with the upcoming Tri-Nation series.

During his media interaction, Javed emphasized the need for Pakistan to score over 300 runs in home conditions.

“In home conditions, Pakistan needs to consistently score 300-plus runs. This is crucial for setting up victories,” he said.

He also noted how the nature of the game has evolved, particularly with the rise of T20 cricket.
“T20 cricket has made the game faster, and now every team easily manages to score over 300 runs,” Javed added.

With the upcoming Champions Trophy in mind, the head coach highlighted the importance of the ongoing Tri-Nation series as a preparation phase.

"This tri-series is a crucial part of gearing up for the Champions Trophy, and we are ready for the challenges ahead," he said.

Discussing player selections, Javed shared that all-rounder Faheem Ashraf has been given an opportunity in the team.

"Faheem Ashraf has been included as an all-rounder, and if required, he will also be useful with the bowl," Javed explained.

The head coach also touched upon the current team combination, stating that the squad has been carefully selected to ensure the best balance.

"We have formed the best combination for the national team. We have both fast bowlers and spin all-rounders available when needed," he remarked.

Finally, responding to criticism regarding Faheem Ashraf's selection, Javed acknowledged differing opinions.

"Criticism regarding Faheem Ashraf's selection is their opinion, and we respect that. However, we believe in his potential and contribution to the team," he concluded.
