Pakistan's bowling coach claimed that the head coach takes the call on team selection
Former Pakistan Head Coach Mickey Arthur has slammed the Men in Green’s bowling coach Waqar Younis for throwing the current head coach-cum-chief selector Misbahul Haq under the bus, with regards to the selection of pacers Imran Khan and Mohammad Abbas for the second Test against Australia in Adelaide.
While speaking at the press conference after the end of third day’s play, the bowling coach claimed that Misbah has the authority on team selection matters.
"It's a decision that depends on the head coach and the selectors on who'll play and who won't," said Waqar.

The aforementioned statement by Waqar didn’t go down well with Arthur, who refused to believe that bowling coach doesn’t have a say in selection.
“He [Waqar] has almost thrown Misbah under the bus there,” said Arthur. “If I was the head coach and one of my staff said that in a presser, I would be seriously annoyed with him.”
“I can’t believe that Misbah didn’t talk to his bowling coach before dropping Mohammad Abbas from the playing XI. I find that absolutely absurd,” he added.
Arthur added that once team selection is done, the whole team and support staff should take responsibility for the side that takes the field.
