The off-spinner has been known to experiment with his bowling arsenal
India’s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin shocked fans with some new variations to his bowling arsenal, while playing for Dindigul Dragons against Chepauk Super Gillies, in the first match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) on Friday.
The 32-year-old bowled two deliveries with an unusual action that created excitement and confusion amongst the fans in attendance. The Chepauk Super Gillies batsmen while requiring 17 runs of the last two balls were left perplexed by these new variations.

The off-spinner delivered the first of the new deliveries with an incomplete bowling stride. The trademark movement of the left-hand and the delay towards the end were replaced by a stagnant left hand and a left-footed release of the ball.
Ashwin then bowled a second delivery that mimicked the bowling style of fellow spinner Kedar Jadhav. The ball was released at a relatively lower point and almost got him a wicket.
The antics of Ashwin ensured a 10-run victory for the Dindigul Dragons in the opening match of the TNPL.
