Former Pakistan cricketer Mudassar Nazar has slammed the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for calling off Pakistan tour.

While speaking to Express News on telephone from Manchester, Nazar said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should ask ECB for a bank guarantee before finalising next tour.

“We [Pakistan] toured a Covid-ridden England and helped ECB avoid major financial loss. The team was also made to stay in a third-class hotel but we went through all that just to help England cricket,” said Nazar.

“Instead of helping us in our time of need, an ungrateful England backed out of Pakistan tour. Next time we should make sure that we have a bank guarantee before booking England tour,” he added.

Nazar also urged PCB to make a strong case against England and New Zealand at the International Cricket Council (ICC).

“Everyone is surprised with England’s decision to back out of Pakistan tour. Even the British media is unhappy. We should use this opportunity to make a strong case against England at ICC level,” he said. “PCB should also seek support from the Asian block in this regard. Countries like Bangladesh need to stand with Pakistan because this can also happen to them in the future.”

“New Zealand and England are part of the conspiracy to isolate Pakistan cricket,” he concluded.
