Concussion has become a serious concern following the death of Australia batter Phil Hughes in 2014 who got struck by a bouncer of Sean Abbott during a Sheffield Sheild match.

Head injuries are a top concern as any blow to the head is immediately viewed by the medical staff to check for a concussion or any other serious injury.

This is the third concussion of Steve Smith in two and half years and a day before this incident, Will Pucovski also suffered a concussion who has cruelly had his career interrupted by a dozen times due to concussion. There is no doubt Australia will keep a close eye on Steve Smith's condition.

Steve Smith, who has scored 38 centuries and 62 half-centuries in his 12-year long international career has recently got a new role in the Australian T20I team.

Smith, who previously batted at number three has now been shifted to number fifth spot where he is yet to perform and is still adjusting with the new role. He has scored 9 and 14 in the first two T20i and yet to score big on his new position.
