Australia triumphed over the West Indies by 55 runs in the 14th match of the World Championship of Legends 2024 at County Ground in Northampton.

This victory has propelled the Aussies ahead of Pakistan on the points table due to a superior Net Run Rate (NRR). Both teams have accumulated eight points from five league matches, but Australia boasts an NRR of +2.464, compared to Pakistan's +1.644.

The West Indies' decision to bowl first backfired as Australia posted a formidable 274/7 in their 20 overs.

Ben Dunk dazzled with a 35-ball century, while Daniel Christian fell just short of his hundred, scoring 99 off 35 balls. Dunk's explosive innings included 12 fours and 7 sixes, while Christian hammered 11 fours and 8 sixes.

In response, the West Indies' chase faltered as the required run rate escalated, leaving them at 219/6 by the end of their innings.

Dwayne Smith contributed 64 runs off 40 balls, Ashley Nurse added a quick 70 off 36 balls, and captain Daren Sammy chipped in with 33 off 18 balls. Brett Lee, the Australian skipper, was the standout bowler with figures of 2/30.
