During his illustrious career, Chappell received multiple baggy green caps
Legendary Australian cricketer Greg Chappell has revealed that his only Baggy Green cap has gone missing, leaving him deeply saddened.
In a recent interview, the former captain disclosed the cap's disappearance, stating, "We had stored our belongings in one place for ten years, and this cap was among them. When we were preparing to move to Adelaide, I noticed the cap was no longer with the other items."
Chappell expressed his feelings of loss, saying, "I don’t know what happened, but I am very upset. This was a significant memento for me, and now it's gone."
During his illustrious career, Chappell received multiple Baggy Green caps, one of which he gifted to Geoffrey Boycott, which later sold for $15,000 at auction. The cap that is now lost was his last remaining Baggy Green.
Greg Chappell played 87 Test matches in the 1970s and 1980s, scoring 24 centuries and is widely regarded as one of Australia's greatest batsmen.
It is worth mentioning that last year, David Warner also experienced the theft of his Baggy Green cap, although it was eventually recovered.
