The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stepped up its efforts to ensure complete preparation for mega-events. In light of that, the board secured the services of Australian pitch expert Damien Hough to evaluate the conditions of pitches in Pakistan.

The decision was taken to prepare the Pakistan cricket team to combat the Australian conditions as the T20 World Cup is going to be held there later this year.

Asain players often struggle in conditions such as Australia due to a stark difference in conditions at home and away. However, the modern players have largely remained impressive in adapting to different conditions but PCB wants to further help the players.

On the back of Pakistan's incredible run in the previous T20 World Cup where the Men in Green lost to Australia in the semi-finals, Pakistan have been termed as one of the favorites for the competition.

Damien Hough, who is the head curator of Adelaide Oval, examined the outfield and stadium pitches of the iconic Gaddafi Stadium and the equipment used to prepare the ground. Hough was accompanied by PCB's Curator Department Head during the visit while the Aussie also briefed the local coaches and PCB curators regarding pitch preparation.

Hough is also expected to visit Multan, Karachi, and Rawalpindi to assess the pitch conditions there as well, while also giving his expert opinion on how PCB can modify the pitches to prepare for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
