Pakistan's all-rounder, Ayesha Naseem, has announced her retirement from international cricket at the young age of 18.

Her decision came from a desire to lead her life in accordance with the teachings of Islam. Ayesha has already informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about her retirement.

Ayesha made her international debut for Pakistan in March 2020, representing the country in four women's ODIs and four women's T20Is. Throughout her international career, she scored a total of 402 runs.

Her fame skyrocketed in January 2023 when she showcased a quickfire cameo against Australia. During that match, she scored 24 runs off just 20 balls, including three sixes and a four.

Former Pakistan captain, Wasim Akram, praised her performance against Australia, referring to her as a "serious talent" in one of his tweets.
