The right-hand batsman understands the importance of athletic fitness
Azam Khan’s rampant innings of 72 runs off 41 deliveries took Islamabad United to a six-wicket win over Karachi Kings on Friday in HBL Pakistan Super League.
The right-handed batsman was pumped up to work on his fitness and aimed to improve more in the upcoming matches. While talking in the post-match conference, Azam said that he understands the importance of athletic fitness.
"Allah has made me perform so much. I'm happy and really thankful for that. I'm not denying that I need to work on my fitness – I have to work very hard on myself, and God-willing, you will see me working hard on myself in the future," Azam said.
"Last year, I wasn't that good against pace, but this year, I'm averaging 40 at the strike rate of 155. I always check my stats and I'm never satisfied, so I always try to improve. I've improved against pace, but I still prefer facing spin because I know I can be more dominant against it," he added.
