Babar Azam among the most expensive players for the 2022 ‘The Hundred’ Draft

Players from 16 countries have entered The Draft, with 250 domestic players putting their names forward

Pakistan all-format captain Babar Azam was included amongst the most expensive players for Men Hundred 2022 draft.

The Draft will be held behind closed doors on Monday, April 5, with the final Draft to be revealed from midday on Tuesday, April 6. 

Players from 16 countries have entered The Draft, with 250 domestic players putting their names forward.

Babar Azam is the only player from Pakistan in The Hundred Draft with a reserve price of 125,000 GBP (the highest category).

Other notable names from Pakistan in different categories are Muhammad Amir, Shadab Khan, Muhammad Hafeez, Asif Ali, Haris Rauf, Shoaib Malik, Naseem Shah, Shan Masood, Imad Wasim, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal, Iftikhar Ahmed etc.

The other overseas players included in £125,000 reserve price are Chris Gayle, Mitchell Marsh, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Tabraiz Shamsi, and David Warner.

The eight teams have already retained a number of players after the first season of the competition, with 42 slots remaining to pick for the teams in the Draft. Of these, 17 will be filled by overseas players and 25 by domestic players.

The tournament is set to begin on August 3, 2022.
