Pakistan captain Babar Azam has been in fine form this year, scoring runs across all formats. On the second day of the ongoing 1st Test against Sri Lanka, Babar completed 10,000 international runs and, in the process, he became the fastest Asian and Pakistan batter to achieve this particular milestone.

Babar took just 228 innings to bring up 10,000 international runs, 20 fewer innings than the second-placed Javed Miandad.

Former Pakistan opening batter Saeed Anwar had taken 255 innings while Mohammad Yousuf completed the feat in 261 innings. Former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq had taken 281 innings to bring up 10,000 international runs.

Overall, he is the fifth fastest to the landmark and is the fastest among the Asian batters. Babar surpassed his Indian counterpart Virat Kohli in this aspect who had reached 10000 international runs in 232 innings.

Meanwhile, West Indies legend Vivian Richards is on top of the list in this aspect as he completed his 10000 runs in international cricket in only 206 innings during his illustrious career.

Another Caribbean batter in the list is Brian Lara who is at the third position having reached the milestone in his 220th outing for the West Indies at the highest level. Hashim Amla and Joe Root are the other two players in the top five as they completed 10000 runs in 217 and 222 innings respectively.
