Babar Azam becomes most successful T20I captain in history

Pakistan's captain, Babar Azam, made history when his team defeated Ireland by seven wickets in the second T20I on Sunday.

This victory has made Babar the most successful T20I captain, surpassing Brian Masaba of Uganda, who had held the record with 44 wins.

Babar's tally now stands at an impressive 45 victories in 78 matches as Pakistan's skipper.

Moreover, his leadership has seen him captain Pakistan in 78 T20Is, setting a new record for the most appearances as captain in this format for any country. This achievement overtakes the previous record set by Aaron Finch, who led Australia in 76 T20Is.

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi presented a special jersey to white-ball cricket team captain Babar, with '45 wins' printed on the back.
