Pakistan captain Babar Azam faced a chorus of boos from the Indian crowd as he stepped forward for the toss against India on Saturday.

Narendra Modi Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 132,000, is filled with supporters of the home team adorned in Blue.

Gautam Gambhir, in a conversation with Star Sports, emphasized the importance of supporting one's team but urged against disrespectful behavior towards the visiting side.

"Support your team but don't misbehave with your visitors, after all, they are your guests. We have to remember they are the visitors and here to play the World Cup," Gambhir said.

While some Pakistani fans expressed displeasure on social media about the booing incident, others believed it to be a commonplace occurrence in an away stadium.

With all the Hospitality Indians had shown towards PCT & now the boos in the Stadium towards Babar is not great! Jesus Babar and his team will be on back foot today towards high energetic crowd! Hope it doesn’t result in toxicity 🇮🇳🇵🇰 #PakistanCricketTeam #INDvsPAK #WorldCup2023

The way they booed Babar during the toss, I'm gonna love their silence when Pakistan will win. (InshaAllah) pic.twitter.com/FQkoJRj4YY
