Babar Azam has become the fastest batsman to reach 9000 runs in T20 cricket history.

The Peshawar Zalmi skipper reached the milestone during his 64-run knock in the first eliminator against Islamabad United on Thursday in PSL season 8.

Babar has achieved the feat in just 245 innings, breaking the record of West Indian legend, Chris Gayle, who took 249 innings to reach 9000 runs.

The Zalmi skipper smashed 10 fours during his 39-ball inning against United, to set a perfect plaform for his team. He was trapped lbw by United skipper, Shadab Khan, in 13th over.
