Before the conditioning camp, Safeer Azam shared a video of him training at NHPC a few days back under the supervision of Babar Azam
Pakistan captain Babar Azam bringing and allowing his brother Safeer Azam to train at the National High-Performance Center (NHPC) in Lahore has become a topic of discussion.
Before the conditioning camp, Safeer Azam shared videos and photos of him training at NHPC under the supervision of Babar Azam.
Only first-class and national cricketers are allowed to practice at the state of the art facilities provided by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
"Babar came to the centre three-four days back with his brother and this was before the conditioning camp had begun. And his brother later held nets which was brought to the notice of the board," a reliable source in the PCB told news Indian news agency PTI.
He conceded that since no Pakistan player could bring any of his relatives or friends to the NHPC for practice, Babar was politely reminded about his indiscretion and told not to repeat it.
"He is our national team captain and the matter was handled in a manner where he was politely reminded about the situation and he agreed," the source added.
