Babar Azam is currently in the form of his life and earlier last month, Babar Azam overtook Virat Kohli and became the fastest skipper to reach 1,000 one-day international runs.

During Pakistan's first Test match against Sri Lanka, Babar cemented his position in a list of elite players and became the fifth fastest player to cross 10,000 international runs, a list led by the great Sir Viv Richards.

Pakistan's all-format captain was the sole resistance for Sri Lankan bowlers as he scored one of his best centuries in tough conditions as Babar's team was dismantled for 218 runs and 119 runs from the total belonged to the flamboyant batter himself.

His 119-run inning not only helped Pakistan remain in the competition but also saw Babar become the fifth fastest to 10,000 international runs in only 228 innings.

Sir Viv Richards had reached the 10,000-run milestone in 206 innings, followed by South African great Hashim Amla (217), Brian Lara (220), and Joe Root (222).
