Pakistan skipper Babar Azam played a 57-run knock during the first T20I against Ireland on Friday.

In his innings of 43 balls, Babar notched up his 35th half-century, comprising eight boundaries and a six.

This innings sees him level with Virat Kohli for the highest number of fifty-plus scores in T20Is, with both players having an impressive count of 38 such scores.

Babar also has three T20I hundreds to his name, whereas Virat has only managed to secure one century in T20Is.

Babar is also closing in on becoming the first Pakistani player to cross the 4000-run mark in T20I cricket.

With a total of 3880 runs, he ranks third in the list of batsmen with the highest runs in T20I cricket, following behind Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. To surpass Kohli's total, he only needs 158 more runs.
