Babar Azam overtakes Virat Kohli in yet another record list

Pakistan all-format captain has overtaken Virat Kohli and has become the highest run-scorer in ODI cricket since the start of the 2018.

Babar achieved this feat after scoring 74 runs against the Netherlands in the first ODI of the series.

This means that Babar, who is in form of his life, has scored more runs than any batter in the previous four years combined.

Babar has amassed 7,623 runs since 2018 and sits firmly on the top of the list. In behind him is former Indian captain Virat Kohli with 7,472 runs whereas Englishman Joe Root is ranked third with 7,255 runs. 

In addition to this, Babar Azam has also scored runs with the best average as well; 54.06 compared to Kohli's 51.17 and Joe Root's 48.36.

  • Babar Azam — 7,623 runs (54.06 average)
  • Virat Kohli — 7,472 runs (51.17 average)
  • Joe Root — 7,255 runs (48.36 average)
