Pakistan captain Babar Azam and his team have received a heartfelt letter from an eight-year-old fan after Pakistan’s exited the ongoing T20 World Cup at the semi-finals stage.

The kid, Mohammad Haroon Suria, praised the Pakistan team’s performance and vowed to lead his country to the title in the future. He also requested Babar to share the autographs of the entire Pakistan squad.

Responding to his little fan, Babar thanked him “for such a kind letter” and backed him to achieve anything with “focus, belief, and hardwork”.

“You will get your autographs but I can’t wait to get your autograph future captain,” Babar added.

Dear Mohammad Haroon Suria,

Pakistan had stormed into the last four as the only team with a perfect record in the group stage.

However, Matthew Wade smacked three sixes in a row to clinch a see-saw chase as Australia beat Pakistan by five wickets in a dramatic semi-final on Thursday to reach the T20 World Cup final.

Chasing 177 for victory, Australia needed 22 runs from the last two overs and Wade got a reprieve when Hasan Ali dropped him off Shaheen Afridi in the penultimate one.

Wade sent the next three balls from Afridi soaring over the ropes and Australia reached their target with one over to spare.
