The 27-year-old is now the only non-wicketkeeping fielder to take 35 catches
Karachi Kings captain Babar Azam has set a new record in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) after he bagged three catches against Islamabad United at the National Stadium in the 14th match of season seven.
The 27-year-old is now the only non-wicketkeeping fielder to take 35 catches HBL PSL's history. He took catches of Colin Munro, Asif Ali, and opposing team captain Shadab Khan.
Babar Azam left behind Quetta Gladiators Mohammad Nawaz, who has taken a total of 33 catches. Peshawar Zalmi's wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal is the leading catcher in the tournament's history with 52 scalps.
On the other hand, Babar's two catches also grabbed fans attention. In the 16th over of United's innings, Shadab Khan hit a shot over the off-side and Babar dived to his left while fielding at mid-off position.
