Pakistan's white-ball captain Babar Azam and fast bowler Shaheen Afridi have shared their thoughts on the team's performance and future plans as they win their final match of the mega-event against Ireland.

In today's T20 World Cup clash, Ireland, after being put in to bat first, were restricted to 106 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the first innings. Shaheen Afridi and Imad Wasim each took three wickets, while Mohammad Amir dismissed two Irish batters.

In reply, Pakistan chased down the target, losing seven wickets in 18.5 overs. With this win, the Men in Green ended their T20 World Cup campaign with two wins and two losses.

During the post-match conference, the 29-year-old addressed the team's performance and highlighted the need for introspection.

"We have a good bunch of players. We'll now get some rest then we have series at home. First we'll go back and sit and discuss where we lack and why we weren't good enough. We'll have discussions and have a plan for the next assignment. We have good players, but we haven't performed well here as a team," Babar said.

Shaheen Afridi echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the team's responsibility to meet the expectations of their nation.

"To be honest, we haven't played the type of good cricket that our country demands. We need to improve in a few areas quickly because we have big events coming up like the Champions Trophy," Afridi remarked, underlining the urgency for improvement," Shaheen said.
