Babar Azam to play under Rizwan's captaincy in Global T20 Canada

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has been named the captain of the Vancouver Knights for the Global T20 Canada 2024.

The franchise announced, "The Vancouver Knights have chosen their captain for GT20 Season 4: Sir Mohammad Rizwan. With his exceptional batting skills and sharp wicketkeeping, he's ready to lead us to victory. Get ready, Knights!"

Seven Pakistani stars, including Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Asif Ali, Mohammad Amir, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Mohammad Nawaz, will participate in the tournament.

Babar Azam will also play for the Knights under Rizwan's captaincy. Alongside Babar and Rizwan, Amir and Asif Ali will also represent the Vancouver Knights. Meanwhile, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz will play for the Toronto Nationals, and Iftikhar Ahmed will join the Bangla Tigers Mississauga.

The tournament is scheduled to run from July 25 to August 11.
