Babar was dismissed for a duck in the very first over by experienced pacer Mohammad Amir
Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam added an unwanted record to his name during his team’s opening match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 against Quetta Gladiators at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Babar was dismissed for a duck in the very first over by experienced pacer Mohammad Amir, marking his eighth duck in PSL history. With this, he now equals former Zalmi wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal and moves ahead of Lahore Qalandars skipper Shaheen Afridi, who has seven ducks.
The record for the most ducks in PSL history is currently held by Islamabad United all-rounder Imad Wasim, followed by Peshawar Zalmi's former pacer Wahab Riaz.
Most ducks in PSL history:
In the match, Quetta Gladiators started their PSL 10 campaign in dominant fashion, defeating Peshawar Zalmi by 80 runs at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Quetta posted a massive 216-run total. Finn Allen smashed 53 off 25 on debut, while captain Saud Shakeel added 59. Hasan Nawaz scored 41, and a late burst from Kusal Mendis (35*) and Rilee Rossouw (21*) powered Quetta to a strong finish.
In reply, Zalmi’s chase crumbled early after captain Babar Azam fell for a duck to Mohammad Amir. Saim Ayub fought back with a half-century, but wickets kept falling around him.
Abrar Ahmed was the star with the ball, taking 4 wickets. Usman Tariq grabbed two, while Kyle Jamieson contributed with one. Zalmi were bowled out for 136 in 15.1 overs.
With this big win, Quetta picked up two points and moved to the top of the PSL 10 standings.
