Gul praised Babar's work ethic and expressed hope that he would focus on rectifying the highlighted weaknesses
Former Pakistan cricketer, Umar Gul, shared insights on Babar Azam's batting, specifically focusing on his perceived struggle in dealing with deliveries outside the off stump.
In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Gul emphasized that it is natural for players to work on their weaker areas to enhance their overall performance.
"No human is perfect either he is a sportsman or anyone else. Every individual has strength and weaknesses. Yes you can say that it's his weakness, but obviously he [Babar] must have seen this and he might be working on his weak zone. There are coaches who are with him, especially the new batting coach and the head coach, who will definitely work on that particular thing. Just like I said, there is always room for improvement," Gul said.
"You can always improve until you say, I am complete, and I don't need to learn anymore, so, it means that your downfall begins. But the amount of hard work, Babar Azam is putting in, focusing on his batting, I hope that he will definitely work on the weaknesses that is pointed out," he added.
Gul praised Babar's work ethic and expressed hope that he would focus on rectifying the highlighted weaknesses.
"When you have coaches, they keep telling you from time to time what your strengths are. They also inform you about the strengths and weaknesses of the team you are playing against. There is no doubt that Babar Azam is the top batsman in the world, and Pakistan has found an excellent batsman after a long time. So, he is working on his weaknesses and will continue to do so," he concluded.
