Babar Azam has opened about the prospect of facing left-arm pacer and fellow colleague Shaheen Afridi during the course of the HBL Pakistan Super League  (PSL).

Terming it as a "thrilling proposition", Babar said that Shaheen always troubles the batters with his immense pace and his ability to swing the ball both ways.

Pakistan's all-format captain Babar added that Shaheen is a quick learner and has the ability to work well with his variations.

"His searing pace, ability to bring the ball back and guileful variations keep a batter judging. He has a passion to learn, and over the years, has developed this phenomenal ability to adapt to conditions quickly," Babar added.

Shaheen was recently awarded the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy and was also named  ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year while Babar was named in the ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year.

Babar faced Shaheen in the first leg of the HBL PSL 7 with Qalandars winning the tie by six wickets. Babar scored 41 while the left-arm pacer returned figures of 1-31.
