Pakistan cricketer Saim Ayub shared insights into his batting chemistry with star-batter Babar Azam.

In an exclusive interview with a local sports outlet, Ayub shared how initially, due to being new in the setup, he didn't engage in many conversations with Azam. However, as time progressed and he began representing Pakistan alongside Azam, their bond strengthened, leading to a deeper understanding between the two players.

"I enjoy a lot, last year it was the case that I didn't talk a lot with him [Babar] since I was new in this set-up. Then I started playing with him and represented Pakistan as well, so I have a very good understanding with him and now I enjoy a lot batting alongside him. And I constantly learn from him by talking as well as watching him bat," Ayub said.

Ayub emphasized how he constantly learns from both verbal exchanges and by closely observing Azam's technique during matches, particularly impressed by Azam's ability to dominate in the powerplay overs.

"I think we have a lot of discussions and then his batting ability, especially in the powerplay, is very high. Because he is finding gaps all the time, and in case he doesn't, I try to fill that void," he further added.

Ayub underscored the seamless synergy between their batting styles, emphasizing their shared goal of maximizing run-scoring opportunities.

"I think the run flow never stops when we are batting. Our understanding is very good and throughout we want to carry it. I want both of us to bat all 20 overs, and this is my wish." Ayub stated.

Upon being asked if he enjoys batting more with Azam or Mohammad Rizwan, Ayub highlighted how he had the opportunity to open the innings with Rizwan on four occasions, whereas his partnership with Azam has been more extensive.

"I have enjoyed with both of them, I have opened with Rizwan bhai for only four times whilst I have been doing that with Babar bhai since the last PSL," Ayub said.

Ayub emphasized his enjoyment in batting alongside both players, attributing it to their remarkable run-scoring abilities.

"I enjoyed with both of them because both of them have scored so many runs, and it feels great to play alongside them," he concluded.
