The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken notice of Pakistan players hosting space sessions on X (formerly Twitter).

According to a report from local media, the PCB is now contemplating establishing a policy to regulate players' involvement in such social media spaces.

It has been reported that these sessions will be scrutinized in the context of the central contract, as the PCB is concerned about the potential for players to become embroiled in controversies. To address these concerns, PCB has decided to initiate discussions with players and their agents.

The recent participation of key players such as Babar Azam and T20I captain Shaheen Afridi in question-and-answer sessions on X has brought attention to the need for a comprehensive approach.

Babar Azam conducted a space session on February 1, responding to questions from fans posed a day earlier.

Meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi hosted a session on February 4, during which he entertained a query about the possibility of bowling alongside retired pacer Mohammad Amir in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Afridi indicated that he would approach Amir to inquire about the prospect of his comeback to the team.

These developments have prompted the PCB to address the matter proactively and formulate a policy to guide players' social media interactions.
