Mahmudul Hasan Joy, captain of the Bangladesh A team, expressed his delight after securing a draw in the two-match four-day series against Pakistan A.

He described the second game as crucial, approaching it as a 'do or die' match to bolster morale ahead of the national team's upcoming tour to Pakistan.

Following a 148-run loss in the series opener, Bangladesh A bounced back strongly, largely thanks to Joy's stellar all-round performance. Joy led by example, scoring 69 and 65 in two innings, and then delivering a match-winning five-wicket haul in Pakistan's second innings, where they were bowled out for 290 while chasing 296 for victory.

Reflecting on his performance, Joy remarked, "I always focus on my bowling during practice sessions. I tried to replicate that on the field and it paid off. This five-wicket haul in a first-class match is definitely my best bowling performance to date, and this victory ranks among our finest achievements."

Looking ahead, Bangladesh A will now shift focus to a 50-over series followed by a T20 tournament involving Pakistan Shaheens and Big Bash teams.

Joy, along with several teammates from the red-ball squad, will return home to prepare for the 'A' team's tour of Pakistan, which precedes the national team's upcoming Test series.

"We approached the second match as a must-win after losing the first. It was a comeback game for us, and leveling the series feels rewarding as we head back home," Joy emphasized. "As they say, all's well that ends well. I extend my best wishes to our white-ball side, hoping they continue the momentum and finish the upcoming one-day series and T20 tournament on a high note."
